A visitor, new ways to play, and Piggy Day at class!

Ever have those bad hair days? This is what mine looks like when I have one.

Lately my hair hasn't been sticking up quite as much because it's been growing longer. Mommy wants to give me a haircut but Daddy says to wait a little longer. Either way, pretty soon I'll be getting my first haircut. Yet another big milestone!

This week, Auntie Sarita was in town so we went to go visit her. I was a little shy at first but then remembered that we've met before and warmed up quickly.

I'm pointing at the chandelier in this picture because I wanted to touch it.

I'm standing up on my own more and more lately. At first glance, this picture might look like some of my other standing up pictures but I'm actually not leaning on the toy in this one.


I've started letting going so I can use both hands to play and balancing on two legs all on my own.

I'm still very wobbly, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Here I am playing ball with Daddy. I'm starting to get the idea of rolling it back to him so we can keep playing. I'm not accurate yet but I have alot of fun doing it.

Wanna cruise around with me?

Mommy put me in a box and had Daddy pull me around the house.  Lots of fun for me.

 It was Piggy Day at class this week!

It's a day where the teachers prepare all sorts of tastes and textures for me to try and I get to get as messy as I want. (and the best part is Mommy and Daddy don't have to clean up afterwards!)


Everyone gets their own tin. I got some pasta, jello, cheerios, red-colored rice, pudding, blue-colored rice cereal, and spaghetti in mine.

I went after the blue-colored rice cereal right away as you can in this picture, it's mostly out of the tin and on my legs/floor already.

Here I am trying to share some spaghetti.

And here I'm getting nice and messy!

I got a bath right after this because I was so sticky!

Lastly take a look at my teeth coming in. Those front ones are big aren't they? This was the clearest picture Mommy could get of me because I move around so much and I don't like anyone poking around my mouth. My two bottom ones are coming in too!

9 months and 3 weeks

This week I finally got around to getting my 9 month checkup. I am now in the 12th percentile for length, 40th percentile for weight, and 70th percentile for head circumference. I'm sticking my tongue out at my length percentile... I'm planning on doing all my growing later!
 

  This week, Grandma Kan is out of town so Grandpa Kan took care of me all by himself.


As you can see I think he's doing a great job. I got to ride in up front in his car

............... while it wasn't moving of course.

I also got to go here with  Grandpa. Can you guess where I am?

Later on, Great Granduncle CK and Great Grandauntie Kay invited us out for dinner. I was smiling the entire night because I was having such a good time with them. Thank you for inviting us to dinner, it was delicious!

Mommy and Daddy also took me to Tanaka Farms to pick out my very first pumpkin!

Just like Disneyland there was so much to do and see there.

I'm not even paying attention to Daddy in this picture because I saw something I wanted to touch.

Why did Mommy put me on top of this pumpkin? Did she want me to fall off or something?

Don't worry, I didn't. I'm very good at balancing myself now.

It was a very fun day!

As for the rest of the week, it was pretty mellow as usual.


Daddy put me in my swing one last time before he put it away. I'm waay too big for it now as it will barely move when Daddy turns it on.

The mobile stuffed animals are easier for me to grab now though!

And last, here I am being silly. I always steal Daddy's glasses. I seem to be learning that I can wear them as well. But I keep trying to put them on like a hat and this is what happens.

I'll get the hang of it someday!

9 months 1 week

Sorry for the late post everyone!

Don't worry you're not seeing double. I'm just high-fiving myself in the mirror at Grandpa and Grandma Kan's house. They're setting up a room just for little ol' me!

Now that I'm a little bigger Grandpa and Grandma Kan took me out to the park. See the big ship behind me?

I can't wait until I'm big enough to run around and play on that!

I got to try out my first swing. See my smiles from experiencing something new?

Don't worry, Grandpa and Grandma made sure I didn't swing too high.

On the weekend, Mommy and Daddy took me to my Music and Motion class again.

Here I am on a saucer. Daddy was moving and spinning it around so my core muscles become more developed.

Afterwards, I got to do some shopping. Daddy found this car and put me in it and took me for ride around the store.

I loved checking out the store this way!

Mommy likes to call this picture "King of the Diapers".

I was smiling at everyone that came by while I was sitting on my throne.

Like my hair? Daddy thought it might make a good Halloween costume. Mommy was hoping for something much cuter so Daddy got overruled.

One bottom tooth and one top tooth is finally growing in! So my parents are starting to brush my teeth. I absolutely loved feeling the bristles on my teeth and gums. I think I just like the sound it makes.

Right now, I think it's my most favorite part of getting ready for bed!

9 months old!

Wow, can you believe I'm already 9 months old? It's all going by so fast! Here I am playing with some nesting boxes my Auntie Emily and Uncle Chris got me awhile ago. I'm just starting to learn how to put one inside the other..

And one of my favorite things to do is tip them over when someone stacks them up for me.

Lately, however, I've been having fun with Grandma Kan telling me NOT to tip them over. I really WANT to tip them over, but I'm being a good boy and listening to my grandma and stopping myself from doing it. I'm so silly...

During the week, I also got to visit Great Grand Uncle CK and Great Grand Auntie Kay at IHOP

It was great seeing them again.

Hmm... what am I eating here? It's a corn cob that my Daddy let me suck on. I really really liked it and cried when he took it away.

I still don't have anything teeth in yet so I can't chew it on my own, but I sure do like holding and tasting it. Yum!

Remember all the crawling and standing I was doing last week? Look at what my parents caught me doing on camera this week when I was supposed to be napping...

I guess it was inevitable... Daddy needs to lower the bed again before I decide to try to escape on my own.

The most exciting thing (for my parents, at least) was that I went to my very first Dodgers game this Saturday!

I got all dressed up in Dodger blue.

My first class and LA County Fair

This weekend I went to my first Music and Motion class with Mommy and Daddy. As you can see, there were plenty of places for me to crawl and explore.

I got to hear someone play guitar and sing. And during the songs we did all sorts of hand motions.

I like chasing around other babies in class. I'm not sure what to do with them when I catch up though...

After class I went down for my nap super fast. Maybe Mommy and Daddy should have me in class everyday.... hrmm....

We also went to the fair this weekend. It wasn't too hot but it was very very busy since it was one of the last weekends the fair would be there.


I'm looking at a spiral railroad with Daddy. I was a bit mesmerized by the trains going up and down.

There was a big animation display at the fair. Daddy was trying to pose me like Kung Fu Panda but my attention was on something else.

I think this one is called Turbo.

Here I am just hanging out in front of a hobbit house. Looks like the perfect size for me, right?

After a really long day, it was nice to just sit with Daddy and relax














The next day, we went to go have some dim sum. I got to have a taste of my first char siu bao! I liked it alot!

This was a big day for Grandma Kan. She's been wanting to have me taste one since I was only 4 months old. You can tell from her face that she was very excited.

Finally, remember how I was starting to stand last week on my own?

Well look at what I working on now!

More milestones and September birthdays!

Sorry for the long delay since the last post. It's been a very busy past few weeks!

Do you like my look here? Mommy says I look like Ben Stiller in 'Zoolander'.

This past weekend we celebrated my Grandma Waki's birthday at the Getty Villa! It's a beautiful place up in Malibu with lots to see and do.

Here I am with Mommy, Grandpa and Grandma Waki outside in the gardens.

And here we are at the opposite end of the garden. You can see the crystal clear pool that ran down the middle of it.

Here's one more of just me and Grandma Waki on top of the balcony overlooking the gardens.

It was such a beautiful day.

There wasn't TOO much for me to do, but I had fun with Daddy playing with these shadow projections....

It made for fun pictures at any rate...

I'm very into touching things now. So here I am feeling all the plants that I can get my hands on.

We had afternoon tea in the Founder's room. Though I couldn't have anything there, everything looked delicious!

There was another birthday that weekend! My Great Grandmother Matsumoto!

She got this very neat frog-shaped cake for her birthday. Isn't it cool?

Happy birthday, Great Grandma! I love it when you come over to visit me!

At the party, I got to see my Auntie Mindy again. I just couldn't get enough of her.

..... particularly her sweater. I kept on wanting to feel it.












Last but not least, I hit two milestones this weekend.... Remember my tummy/combat crawl I was doing last week? Well I don't do that anymore... I can crawl around on all fours now.

And as if crawling wasn't enough for my parents already... I started doing this as well....
