Christmas, my Birthday and more!

Sorry everyone for the extremely late update. Last month was absolutely crazy busy with visitors and it took us awhile to recover. Also, although we'll still be posting to this blog, this is our last planned blog entry. From now on, we'll be posting less frequently.

Thank you SO much for taking the time visit my blog for the past year. We are so blessed to have family and friends such as yourselves who take the time out of your busy schedules to keep up with me growing up. Whether it be you visiting me in person or simply visiting my blog, you have been huge part of our lives. Thank you , thank you, thank you!

OK! Where do we even start!

I know! Howabout where we left off last time? My first Christmas!

Here's a picture that Grandpa Kan took of us for the Christmas cards.

On Christmas day, I got to wake up and open presents for the first time. It wouldn't be an understatement to say that I was absolutely flooded with gifts... so we won't even try to post a picture of all the goodies I got.

This was a stocking FILLED with presents that I got from my Grandma and Grandpa Waki.

Look how happy I am to get a new pair of jeans.

They fit me perfectly!

Of course, I seemed to enjoy the wrapping paper as much as the gifts themselves. Look at me try to use it as a hat...

Ooooh ribbon is fun too...

And playing with OTHER peoples' presents is fun too! This is a golf cap that Daddy got. I wanted to put it on to show him how stylish I was.

Let's see... what else? I got this minion from Uncle Neil. I think I like it!

Here I am clapping and dancing to one of my new toys

After opening presents at home, we got to open some presents at Grandpa and Grandma Waki's house. The presents just kept getting larger.....

.......... and larger!!!!!

Hey! These presents are almost as tall as me!

Fantastic!!!

Mommy even let me play with some right away.

I'm ready for some cold weather!

The present opening didn't end there... we went to Grandma and Grandpa Kan's house afterwards and opened even more!

Here I am with Grandauntie Christina opening even more gifts!

The Kan-boys!

This month I also got my first hair cut! Mommy and Daddy took me to this place that specializes in kid's haircuts called The First Cut.

They have these very cool seats that look like spaceships that I sit in while I get my haircut. There's even tvs all over the place playing cartoons that I can watch.

See how excited I am?

I was very good. Didn't give the stylist too hard a time while she cut my hair.

At the end, we even got a certificate for my first haircut along with a few clippings of my newborn hair. I'm proud of mommy and daddy, they held it together and didn't cry on me.

So why did I get a haircut? Well, Mommy and Daddy wanted me to look my best because in December I turned 1 year old!

Happy birthday to me!!

So many people came out to help celebrate... I was so excited to see them all.

... especially all my second cousins!

This isn't even all of them! I never got a picture with all of them because they were all running around so fast! When I grow a little bigger, I'll be running with them too!

Here's Mommy helping me bounce a little bit in the bounce house.

There are so many more pictures but we can't possibly fit them all here. Thank you to everyone for coming out and making my first birthday so special.

So... after all that, you must think we took a break, right? Nope! We still did quite a few more things! But first wouldn't you like to see more videos of me?

Here's a really funny one of me having a conversation with Grandma Waki on the "phone". It's probably Daddy's favorite at the moment....

And do you remember that Grandma and Grandpa Kan take me out to the park now and then? Look at what I like to do now!

Finally, in December I hit another major milestone.
Yup! I'm starting to walk all over the place. No one can stop me now!

So some other things I got to do this past month was go to the zoo!

They are a little small in this picture but I got to go to the zoo with my Uncle Joe and Auntie Jenny, and their four kids: Lydia, Pricilla, Nathan, and Phineas.

They came all the way from Massachusetts and I actually got to spend quite a bit of time with them this holiday season. I miss them so much already!

Here we are looking at some gorillas

I love looking at fish!

And finally, Mommy and Daddy took me to this place called "Chill, The Ice Kingdom". It's a place at the Queen Mary you can walk through and see all sorts of large ice sculptures. It's only there during the holidays.

First we had to bundle up! It's extremely cold in there in order to keep the ice from melting.

Here we are in front of a massive ice sculpture. It's been colored and represents the story of the Nutcracker.

Looking through a window in an ice castle.

The ice castle zoomed out so you can see the scale of the sculpture

The largest sculpture inside is the replica of the Queen Mary's bow. It's so big you can stand up there like we are in this picture and look down at everyone else.

Ah......... much warmer outside.... I'm sitting on the Ice King's throne here.

OK, that's it for now. There were some more pictures that didn't make it on this blog. So though we mentioned earlier that this was the final regular entry, there will probably be an update in the near future! Thank you for visiting!

Christmas is coming!

I'm being such a little monkey in this picture. This and the next picture are actually from last week but we didn't get a chance to include them in last week's blog so we're including them here.

I'm showing off how I can play the drums here.

And here I am with Grandpa Waki after a really great lunch.

Let's see... this week I've been starting to get into everything. I can pretty much shimmy upright over to anything I want now and getting more and more mobile by the day.

This is the aftermath of when I get into one of the bookshelves...

Daddy went out to get a Christmas tree this week! Here I am waiting very very patiently (aka banging on the glass to hurry him up) for Daddy to get the tree together and into the house.

And here it is after Mommy decorated it! Yay! Christmas is coming!

Did I ever tell you how much I love bread? I was so happy to eat it this time around my feet couldn't stop doing a little dance...

And here I am with the Peanuts gang getting in the mood for Christmas. Auntie Sabrina gave these as a gift to Grandma Kan awhile ago and I absolutely love them. It also helped me develop a new behavior... Clapping hands!

Another milestone for Mommy and Daddy to check off for me!

With that, I am coming up very quickly to my 1st birthday. What a whirlwind year it has been! Thank you so much for coming to visit, it really means alot to me and my parents. Until next week!

My First Thanksgiving... there was alot of eating...

Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

I hope you had a nice one because I certainly did. Lots of family and lots of food. It reminds me how thankful I am to be in such a wonderful family. And how grateful I am for everyone of you. Thank you for being a part of my life, whether it be by visiting me in person or visiting my blog!

This Thanksgiving I saw not one, not two, but THREE turkeys! Grandpa Waki made two and Grandma Kan made this one. It's bigger than me!

Here's a picture of us at Grandpa Kan's house.

I got to eat alot at both houses. I absolutely love bread but I also got my first taste of turkey and I liked it! YUM!

Here I am with Grandpa and Grandpa Waki. This is actually a couple days after Thanksgiving when we went to visit Great Grandma Matsumoto at her home.

Coincidentally it was also the same place my Grandpa and Grandma Kan had their annual performance with the church choir. So I got to see both sets grandparents that day.

Here I am with Mommy, Daddy and Great Grandma Matsumoto

Another day, we went out eating again. This time with Grand Uncle Allen, Grand Auntie Kaman, Uncle Time, and Aunt Naomi!

I'm the only one not looking at the camera in this picture otherwise it would have been a great picture.

Doesn't Uncle Tim look so happy to hold me? From the smile on my face, I obviously think he's doing a great job

Here I am with Auntie Naomi. The puzzle I'm playing with is actually one of Daddy's old toys. Her family had borrowed it for when Uncle Tim and Auntie Naomi were little and now returned it back so that I could play with it.

Daddy got very nostalgic when he saw all his old toys and puzzles. He remembers playing with them quite vividly!

Here I  am with Grand Uncle Allen from Hong Kong. He's showing me the Christmas tree here

And here I am with Auntie Naomi and Grand Auntie Kaman.... still fascinated with the tree.

Weee~~ I like sitting on Daddy's shoulders.

Here I am having a taste of a lemon for the first time. Aside from my reaction, it's funny because you can hear the Uncles and Daddy laughing, but Grandma Kan and Grand Auntie Kaman admonishing us for being 'mean' in the background.

I didn't seem to mind it much though.

By the end of the weekend, Mommy and Daddy were so tired they didn't know which end to put my diaper.... We had fun though. I miss all my family already! Luckily, Christmas is right around the corner!

See you again soon!

3 and 1/2 week late post!

Hello everyone! Very very sorry for the lack of posts this month! Unfortunately a few weeks ago I was a bit sick so I didn't have very many pictures..  then Daddy got plain lazy and didn't put up a post until now. Sorry again! From now until the end of the year we will try to get a post up every week!

As you can see, my parents have been experimenting with my hair since it's been getting longer. Mommy's not sure about this hairdo but I seem to like it.

This past week was my last day at class for this year. They brought out a colorful parachute for us to sit on.

Here I am with everyone else about to go for a little spin

And here I am having a grand old time picking up balls and climbing in the gym area.

I've also been getting more and more interested in instruments.

Here I am trying to play the guitar.

It's still a bit big for me and my fingers aren't strong enough to pluck the strings yet, but I got a little sound out of it.

I'm MUCH better with these drums at Grandpa and Grandma Kan's house.

I can tap out a pretty good beat!

Do you remember this car-walker? Well since the last time, I've figured out I can get around on my own in this. It's let me get to places I want to go without having to have someone take me there. Freeeedom!!!

Here's a video of me chasing Grandma Kan around.  I've already gotten the hang of turning.

Here I am with Grandpa Kan for dinner. I'm not quite old enough to eat lobster yet so Grandma gave me a stuffed one instead. But I definitely liked touching the real one.

I'm also starting to sit on one of these things.

I think I need to have my pants off, actually.... but I'm just getting used to sitting on it and staying still for now :)

With my 1 year birthday coming up, Mommy and Daddy started putting away some of my newborn clothes.

This is the cap that I wore when I was first born... it barely fits my head now! I'm such a big boy...

Here I am with Dobby. Now that I'm more mobile I can crawl to him a little better.

He's also gotten alot more used to me so he'll let me pet him from time to time. At the moment, I'm more interested in his tags than him but he's a good dog and is very gentle with me.

This is currently Mommy and Daddy's favorite picture of me. I absolutely LOVE bread and anything similar to it. So when Daddy gave me a pork bun all to myself this was the expression on my face when I realized it was all mine.

Thanksgiving is coming up so I'm looking forward to seeing all my family this weekend! Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, we are very thankful for having you all in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
