18 weeks, a work party and yup... a return to Disneyland!

Help! I'm stuck!

Mommy came into the room finding me in this position. Turns out Daddy wrapped me up in their blankets to help me sit up for this picture. I actually sat up for quite awhile this way and enjoyed it. Guess I just love the sensation.

Speaking of new sensations, here I am with my latest toy, a Sophie Giraffe! It's a teether toy but I'm not growing teeth yet. I just like holding it and putting it into my mouth. Sometimes I squeeze it hard enough to make it squeak! All great fun!

Here I am in a paper samurai hat that my Great Grandmother Matsumoto folded for me. Don't I look fierce?

This week I got to meet ALOT of new people. First off, we went to a work party that my Daddy's friend hosted. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture with everyone but I did get a picture with the hosts. This is Prapti, my Daddy's coworker, and her husband, Raj.

There were definitely alot of people that wanted to hold me and I did well with all of them. Mommy and Daddy's arms got a break that night!

 And look where we ended up again!

Yup, Disneyland! (told you we'd be here alot). This time Uncle King and Auntie Idy showed up to walk around with me. We went on Small World together and had alot of fun...

 ... We also went on Winnie the Pooh but I have no recollection of that because this was what I did the entire ride.


My parents were amazed even with all the noise and motion I didn't stir at all. Ah well.... I'll see that ride next time...










Guess what? Turns out Uncle Calvin and Uncle Warren was there as well! They happened to be there with other friends at Disneyland and we had a chance to get some pictures together.

 

See how big I am in Uncle Calvin's arms? I must really be growing! Uncle Warren's a natural too, I was smiling alot in his arms.

 Last but not least, Mommy took this picture of me and Daddy when he wasn't looking. Apparently she was laughing at how much we look alike when we watch tv.... What do you think? Daddy thinks he finally sees a little resemblance there...

We were watching the Stanley Cup playoffs. Why?.... because it happened to be on .... :)

17 weeks, but only 4 months old in two days?

That's right! I'm older when I count my age in weeks than in months. What an interesting little quirk with our calendars...

Here I am doing one of my new tricks. It's been getting warmer so Mommy and Daddy have been letting my feet go freee~! I seem to be loving the new sensation. I like lifting my feet up and pointing my toes at things. See how happy I am?
 

Here is a nice picture of me and Grandma Waki. She's been taking care of me all month! She got me dressed up in this outfit that I got for Christmas from Grand Uncle Glenn and Grand Auntie Amy. Don't I look adorable?






 Why did I get dressed up you ask? Well, I was going out to Disneyland to go meet my Auntie Nathalie! She was down for a conference where she was a very important person. But she still found time in her busy schedule to visit me!

I was a little tired, but I'm glad to see her.

Uncle Jon came too. He was so warm I fell asleep on him on the tram ride home.

I also had another visitor...  Uncle Chris, Daddy's very good friend, came by to see me! He has a boy too named Matthew who is about 7 months older than me. I hope to meet him and Auntie Emily soon up in San Francisco. Maybe Matthew and I will be good friends just like Daddy and Uncle Chris someday!

Sorry I wasn't a little more awake in this picture! Being cute is tiring!

Here I am at a Hawaiian restaurant with Grandpa Waki. I also got to meet one of Mommy's old teammates from basketball. She has a son too who is 17 months.

Who knows, maybe we'll play basketball together in the future!










Since the weather was so nice, we went out to the botanical gardens nearby. I didn't really like the sun much.... so I just hid in my stroller all day. But here I am in a picture with some flowers Mommy liked.












Next week, I'll be headed to the doctor's for my 4 month checkup! Hopefully I've been doing well and growing just as I should be. I will also be getting some s-h-o-t-s but since I don't know how to spell, I don't know what that is. Mommy just hopes I won't be too mad afterwards.

16 weeks

Hello everybody! This is what I look like in the morning when I get a good night's rest. All happy and ready to take on a new day!

Over the week (seemingly overnight to my parents) I've hit a few milestones. First, I've definitely been growing. Here I am starting to sit up in my Bumbo chair. When my parents first put me in this @1 month, my head barely cleared the back of the chair. Now look at me! I can even hold my up pretty well for quite awhile.

 It's so much fun to be sitting with my parents I even laugh now and then.

On Saturday, I went to visit my Great Grandma Kan. She was so happy to see  and hold me. Daddy thinks this is a really good picture of us. As you can see, I'm quite happy in her arms.

And look at me! During tummy time I can hold my head up fairly consistently now!

When I'm in an extra good mood I'll even give Mommy and Daddy a smile while I'm looking around. It's like looking at the world from a whole new perspective!














Here's a short video of me and my tummy time. I even have the beginnings of a crawl... though that is probably still a long way off...

 

Lastly, here I am starting to sit on my own. I can hold it for about 10 seconds before I start tilting off to one side veeerrryy slowly. But as you can see, I'm loving the new sensation.

15 weeks!

I'm exactly 15 weeks today! Yay for me! Here I am happy as a clam in my stroller. You might not be able to tell right away but I am now sitting upright in my stroller instead of in the car seat! I'm a big boy now.

As you can see it was a bit cold that night so my parents bundled me up. Where were we you might ask? Well maybe you can guess from this next photo?




Well... maybe not, we actually went to California Adventure this time around to see all the Pixar stuff.

Here I am before it got all cold with my Micky Ears hat. Mommy and Daddy actually got this for me before I was born. I guess they knew I'd like Disney stuff. (expect alot of pictures from Disneyland... Mommy and Daddy go alot...)

Recently I've found my thumbs... and I sure do like sucking on them...

Here I am about to go on a ride with Mommy. Fun!

And another picture of me sitting straight as an arrow in my stroller. This doesn't happen all the time....

... because as you can see. I eventually start leaning one way. This was at the Animation Studio where I got to see and hear alot pictures and music from the Disney movies.









Aside from our walk at the Disney Parks, it was a pretty mellow week...

Grandma Waki, who has been taking care of me every week while my parents work, has been trying to get me to go down for naps. I don't really like to sleep far away from people and sometimes I end up sleeping in very strange positions...














Uncle Jon came back from his Japan trip and came over to visit me first thing.

The last thing I got to do was visit Daddy's workplace on the weekend. Here I am looking at some brain art that was on the wall. I was quite fascinated! Maybe I'll study brains like Dad in the future... or maybe I just like the colors...........

3 months old!

Can you guess where we are?

Yes, Mommy and Daddy finally took me to Disneyland! We didn't actually do too much while we were there. Mostly just walked around for a couple hours, but I did get a picture with the Easter Bunny since he was there.

 But my parents' favorite part was how interested I was at my first ride! Can you guess which ride it was?

Also, since Mommy and Daddy are taking care of Mozart while Grandma and Grandpa Kan are gone I sometimes get to go on walks with him. Here I am after a nice little walk, all tuckered out.
















I'm also starting to help out around the house. Here I am with Dad doing a little spring cleaning.









Do you want to hear me laugh? It's only the start of one, but my parents love it!

This week Mommy went back to work and now Grandma Waki is taking care of me. I miss Mommy alot but am really happy I get to spend some time with Grandma! For now, I'm learning how to take milk from a bottle better and go down for naps. It's a challenge but mommy and daddy hope I get it soon!

Happy Easter everyone! Grandma Waki got me all these gifts for my first Easter. Isn't that nice of her? But before we go into that, we still have the week before to catch up on!



While I was in San Diego watching the Blue Angels show, my Daddy's cousins, Uncle David and Auntie Sarita happened to be in San Diego too! But we didn't get to see them because our schedules didn't quite match up. So we caught up to them the weekend after.

We went out to Monterey Park to meet them and Great Grandma Kan. I was so happy in Uncle and Aunties arms, their experience definitely showed! I held Great Grandma Kan's finger, I have a super strong grip! She was so happy to see me she almost forgot to eat her food.












It was a short visit, but I hope get to see them again soon!

Grandpa and Grandma Kan went out to HK to visit Great Grandma Lam. They missed me so much Daddy set up Skype so I could talk and see them for a little bit. Here I am talking (staring at them)













Which brings us to Easter! We went out to church for the very first time! While the choir was singing Daddy says he could hear me trying to sing along with them. Afterwards we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Waki's house for Easter dinner. I got to meet even more of my family!

From the top going clockwise is my Grand Uncle Stanley (Grandma Waki's cousin), then Grand Auntie Diane (also Grandma Waki's cousin), Grand Auntie Marissa, Aunties Summer and Sierra , and Great Grandma Matsumoto.

I had alot of fun with them even though most of the time I was sleeping.

Grand Auntie Karen got me this cookie for Easter. It's almost as big as I am! Mommy said I couldn't eat it yet (even though I tried) and Daddy said he'd take care of that for me....












Lastly, look what I'm starting to do! Mommy and Daddy are very proud. I'm developing more every day! That's it for this post, see ya next time!

B&BAs (Babies and Blue Angels)

This week I went on my first ever extended road trip/vacation! We went all the way to El Centro (2 hrs east of San Diego) to see the Blue Angels perform. Specifically, we went to go see my Uncle Mike who made it on the Blue Angel team this season. Here we took a picture with Blue Angel team members 1-8. Uncle Mike is just to the left of my Mommy in this picture. We're so proud of him, go Uncle Mike!

The planes were very exciting but LOUD. Mommy and Daddy made sure my ears were protected from the loud noises. With them on, I barely heard a thing!

In addition to seeing Uncle Mike, I also got to some of my cousins and uncles and aunties on my grandma's side of the family. It was very exciting and rare that we all get to be together in one place. We formed a baby caravan to go see the show. It was very hot though so we eventually found a tent to hide under.

In the lower left picture with Ashley, she couldn't keep her eyes off me. She's exactly 2 weeks and 4 days older than me. I hope we can be good friends when we get a little bigger.

Here's cousin Elliot giving me a kiss goodnight. He's such a great big cousin. When I get bigger maybe he can teach me how to push around those trucks I always see him playing with.

Here's cousin Alyssa playing with my toes. She's so silly! She's my parents god-daughter and they were really happy to see her again.

Here's Uncle Ryan trying to get me to laugh. I don't know how to laugh yet, Uncle! But I'm sure when I figure out how you'll be the funniest guy I know!

 

Here's a picture of the three babies all born in the Year of the Dragon. Julia (middle) is the eldest, and then Ashley, and then me! When Mommy first found that she was carrying me, Daddy got so excited that we were all going to be born in the same year that he made a video to announce it. He'll need to find that video and post it later :)

Even though I'm not in this picture, I love it so I'm posting it. Actually, Daddy works in a science lab so he was able to artificially age this photo to predict what my cousins would look like in the future. Click here to see what he thinks they'll look like!

 Here's another picture that my parents love.... Often these pictures turn out so great, but what is happening on the other side of the camera? Well here is a glimpse of what it looks like. My family is so silly, huh? No wonder we smile so much in the pictures!
